Rapid depletion of missile stockpiles in Iran raises concerns about US readiness

WASHINGTON – The Iran war has burned a sizable hole in the U.S. missile stockpile — over 6,000 in the first 16 days. That includes nearly half of ATACMS and Precision Strike Missiles in the arsenal and nearly 40% of THAAD interceptors. If that rate continued, those munitions would run out within a month. As for Tomahawks, produced in Tucson, the only conflict that involved more was the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
