Emily Schmidt expects to graduate in December 2021 with a master’s in mass communication. Schmidt, who worked on the News21 project “Unmasking America” and has interned for Phoenix Magazine, is working in the Phoenix News Bureau. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Fellow.
