What Arizonans are searching for on Election Day

Cronkite News is monitoring the experiences of Arizona voters through our own reporting, through social media and through Google search behavior.

Through our partnership with Electionland, a ProPublica project that will cover access to the ballot and problems that prevent people from exercising their right to vote during the 2016 election, we are able to monitor trends in Google searches in real time.

Throughout the day we have seen a spike in searches for “provisional ballots” across the state, as voters who were not on registered lists at specific precincts were told to cast them. Searches for “long lines” have been up more than 200 percent in Prescott Valley, as some voters there waited through voting equipment outages.
