Turf Paradise re-opens this weekend with its 60th opening day

Turf Paradise will kick off its 60th opening day on Saturday.

General Manager Vincent Francia said the horse racing establishment has found success for so many years in Phoenix by adapting to changes.

They now allow horse enthusiasts to place bets online, by phone and in person. As of this year, attendees can view simulcasts of other horse races across the country.

Turf Paradise will give away free T-shirts to the first 5,000 fans at opening day.

Post time: 12:55 p.m.
Admission: Grandstand, $2;clubhouse/turf club, $4.
Parking: General is free; valet is $6.
Location:Entrances at 15th Avenue or 19th Avenue and Bell Road.
