Nicollette Valenzuela expects to graduate in Fall 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in communication studies. Nicollette has worked on the media relations team for Hip Hop International’s World Hip Hop Dance Championship and as a multimedia production intern for the Arizona School Board Association.
PHOENIX – While white Arizonans register the highest cancer rates, Hispanic residents are more likely to die from cancer. Limited access to preventative care, health insurance, distrust of providers and cultural stigma is impacting cancer outcomes in Arizona’s Hispanic population.
