PARIS – With the Summer Olympics in full swing, many are scoping out what the go-to bars and nightclubs are in the City of Light. Opening just over a year ago, The Honey Moon Paris – the first Parisian all-on-tap cocktail bar – is attracting international visitors in the 11th arrondissement.

Although the concept of serving only cocktails from custom taps isn’t new, the idea only really started picking up steam in the past decade. The approach has received some pushback, especially from bartenders who believe it took away from the art of crafting drinks, but it also found success, like in Brooklyn’s Yours Sincerely that opened in 2016. More could be opening in Arizona.

At The Honey Moon, the bar’s retro and stylish interior is antithetical to its modern approach to mixology. Adorned with chic decor featuring a mix of industrial and vintage elements, The Honey Moon creates a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere. The centerpiece is its impressive lineup of taps, each dispensing a different signature cocktail. This innovative setup ensures consistent quality and quick service, enabling guests to enjoy their drinks without waiting for freshly mixed cocktails.

“Whether there are 10 people or 100 people in the bar at the same time, you’ll feel taken care of and be served delicious cocktails.” said Tessa Reynolds, one of bar’s co-owners. “Our guests are our number one priority, whether that is serving them as if we’ve known them forever or finding that special drink that will make their night.”

Mike Jordhoy, another co-owner says “You know we do take a lot of pride in the quality of our drinks and our system, but I think it’s in understanding that hospitality is more than the drink, it’s giving them a full experience.”

Having a drink with dinner is a vital aspect of Parisian culture. Many Parisians don’t particularly want to wait 15-20 minutes for their drink simply because the bartender has to each drink by hand, no matter how simple or complex. This has only been amplified by the rising cost of societal goods and the increasing value people place on their time. The idea for the bar combined the owners’ interests in creating good drinks, and delivering them faster.

At The Honey Moon, the emphasis is on delivering high-quality, flavorful cocktails that cater to various tastes. The menu, curated by a team of expert mixologists, features an array of classic and contemporary concoctions, all crafted with precision and care. From timeless favorites like the Margarita and the Lemon Drop to inventive creations that push the boundaries of traditional mixology, there is something to satisfy every palate. Premium spirits, fresh ingredients and carefully balanced flavors ensure each cocktail is a delightful experience.

Another aspect of The Honey Moon is its commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. By serving cocktails on tap, the bar significantly reduces waste from single-use bottles and cans. This environmentally conscious approach is complemented by using locally sourced ingredients and making all food and drinks in-house, emphasizing a minimal carbon footprint.

The Honey Moon also offers a selection of small plates and bar snacks, intended to complement the flavors of the drinks and enhance the overall experience. The bar hopes to send a relaxed and inviting ambiance and make it an ideal spot for an after-work gathering, a casual date night or a weekend outing with friends.

“It’s a cool relaxing environment that obviously cares about (the customers),” one of the patrons says.

Beyond its innovative concept and various offerings, The Honey Moon aims to foster community among its patrons. The bar regularly hosts events such as cocktail-making workshops, live music performances and themed nights, providing opportunities for guests to engage and connect.

This focus on creating a lively and inclusive environment sets The Honey Moon apart as more than just a place to have a drink, but as a social hub where memories are made.

Sounds like the type of place one might find in the Phoenix area.
