Interactive video: Explore the Arizona State Fair food, rides, animals and more

Cheesy bacon bombs, Navajo tacos and kettle corn are just some of the delicacies you can scarf down at this year’s Arizona State Fair.

But the fair is much more than the sum of its fried foods. Cronkite News went in-depth in the interactive video above to take you behind the scenes to explore the dining scene, rides, games, the many vendors and performers, and the cute animals.

The Cronkite News “innovation squad,” along with reporters across the newsroom, put together a video using interactive video platform Mindstamp to create an experience that allows you to navigate the fairgrounds and learn about different events, foods and families who have been a part of the event for years.

The Arizona State Fair runs through Oct. 30. If you couldn’t make it to the fair this year, or you just want to find undiscovered gems, we’ve got you covered.

Use the interactive experience above to pick your path around the fair. Navigate by watching videos on different topics – it’s up to you which stories you want to navigate to and learn more about.

The innovation squad chose platform Mindstamp to bring state fair stories to life because it lets the users and viewers choose their own experience.

“This process has been extremely rewarding,” Cronkite News reporter and innovation squad member Milan Andrade said. “This journey has been as creative and innovative as possible, and we are very proud of how everything has turned out.”
