PHOENIX – The first weekend of spring will see temperatures on the rise, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s in metro Phoenix.
Saturday should start at 54 degrees and reach 78, but skies should remain overcast throughout the day. Most of the clouds will be gone Sunday, when the high is expected to be 80.
Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day of the year at 90 degrees, but temperatures should drop the rest of the week – even slipping into the high 70s.
The average date the Valley hits 90 is March 31, but in two of the past three years, it has come in February.
Which makes us wonder: How soon before we hit triple digits? May 2 is the average date over the past 30-year period.
