Wednesday forecast: Rain returns to the Valley, temperatures stay below average

PHOENIX – Rain has returned to the Phoenix area, dropping temperatures to well below average for mid-March. According to Weather.gov, highs should be in the upper 70s, but that won’t be the case until this weekend.

Instead, we’ll see chilly conditions heading into Tuesday evening, with wind gusts up to 20 mph and lows near 50.

Clouds and rain should clear out by 11 a.m. Wednesday, with highs reaching the mid 60s that afternoon. A warmup is expected to begin Friday and continue through Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day. By Monday, we should be back in the 80s.
