TEMPE – With concerns about ice quality at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena heading into the 2026 Olympics, Mullett Arena head ice technician Patrick Schuler gave a sneak peek of the daily upkeep of an NCAA and ex-NHL hockey rink. Despite a hole forming in the ice during a test run just weeks before the Olympics began, the rink’s conditions in Milan have remained playable with no major issues through two weeks of play.
