PHOENIX – Skies will be cloudy Tuesday, with highs in the upper 80s, but changes are coming that could bring metro Phoenix to its first 100-degree day by the end of the week.
After the clouds clear out Tuesday night, Wednesday should be sunny and warm. The heat turns up a few notches Thursday, to a forecast high of 99. Afternoon breezes should be light.
The first triple-digit day of 2019 is expected Friday, which is about a week sooner than the current 30-year average of May 2.
One saving grace, hower, is our low humidity; it was 9% at 4 p.m. Monday, according to weather.gov.
Overnight low temperatures also will be rising this week. Expect lows to be in the 60s and even 70s in some parts of the Valley.
