About Querétaro: Promise of prosperity for Mexico

The Project

For this project student reporters spent two semesters studying the issues involved and spent eight days on the ground reporting from Mexico, where they were led and guided by Cronkite School faculty members.

“Querétaro: Promise of prosperity for Mexico” was made possible by a grant from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, the Illinois-based nonprofit organization founded by the international photojournalist, author and philanthropist.

Rick Rodriguez

Rodriguez is the former executive editor of the Sacramento (California) Bee and the Carnegie Professor of Journalism at the Cronkite School, where he teaches courses on Latino issues, ethics, and depth reporting.

Alfredo Corchado

Corchado is the Mexico City bureau chief for the Dallas Morning news and the bestselling author of Midnight in Mexico — a memoir about living in and reporting from Mexico.

Angela Kocherga

Kocherga is an award-winning border reporter for the Albuquerque Journal who has experience covering both sides of the border on air and online for outlets in both English and Spanish.

Jason Manning

Manning is the executive director of digital media for student services at Arizona State University and a professor of practice at the Cronkite School, where he teaches courses on digital technology and reporting.
